the answer is easy xrh59,if you are in the profesional field i.e acting/writing/ect ect ya need to come to the old country to make any progress in your chosen field.look no further than the now talented khylie minogue, i say now talented, because she was just an average soap star in aussie, but came here to develop her hidden talenf of song. paid of for her to i would say.

by the way, did you read where the army quarters around the country are practicaly unfit to live in???what the hells going on with this spin machine of a government??they promise this and that, but they never deliver?you have to sit up and take notice when generals get in on the act of criticism. i am totaly bemused by it all.

It's very obvious xrh59 all the castoffs from here end up in the UK. You just have to look at the rugby players who go out to "pasture" from here, even then they can run rings round you "POMS". Then there's Kylie and most of the cast from Neighbours and Home & Away the list goes on!!!! Hope that answers your question, look forward to hearing from you soon

When it comes to rugby players yes we get quite a few coming over for a good paid holiday. But one thing you may not know more fail than make the grade. And we dont want that thug Mason.Your a POM when you are in a foriegn counry i;e VAN DEMONS LAND

Whats happening in Neighbours in Oz? Does Paul Robinson soon go back to his nasty ways? Does Skye have a boy or girl? and is Izzy coming back to Ramsey Street?

Hi Disco Diva, I don't watch it myself but my workmate says Skye has a girl, Kerry. Paul marries Lyn but leaves her on their wedding night, don't know if Izzy is coming back but she is pregnant with Carls baby.

Are the aussies not the cast offs we sent over all those years ago sydneylass,We used to have neighbours on twice a day here it had to be shown twice because you couldn't beleive it the first time talk about crap. Us poms? your not kidding yourself to are you lass,Its not saying much about your paradise if they are all coming to the motherland to seek better rewards. It seems Britain is a far better place to live and work everyone want's to come here and learn how to be civillised,
I rest my case.

I beg to differ, it's not to seek better rewards it's because they can't make it here or as I said past it but can still make the grade over there.Nothing civil about living in the dark and freezing your t**ts off most of the year. Been there done that!

Iv'e still got my t**ts and the wifes still got hers we are a hardy lot in Wigan and we don't live in the dark,But i'm glad you begged to differ it's much more civillised.

Fair's fair Sydneylass, you should know that the animals in the cold north go into hibernation at this time of year,if they don't they get all cranky and wish deep down that they had made the same decision as you and I .
As for Rolf Harris,he was a champion swimmer and rumour has it he went swimming in the sea on day and never came back.It turns out he swam all the way to UK but was too buggered to come back. This long distance swim has never been ratified because like I said it was only a rumour.

Sorry about me disapearing Sydneylass,My P.C. had a fit but all is well now. You do look like a woman built for comfort,See another compliment your going to have folk thinking iv'e gone soft.Good reason for my profile being like it is i'm very shy but handsome and don't want to torment the ladies of this site with something they can't have so it's only fair not to put any pics of me on.

Given Darwin's theory of evolution how would you categorise yourselves in the great scheme of things if not an animal of the species Homo Sapien? There was no slur intended but it seems you are a little sensitive to certain subjects and comments that to all intents and purposes are just for fun.As for the fact that a number of us ex-pats live in Oz,albeit that I'm only considered to be an 'onourary Wiganer, making contributions to this forum from our perspective, doesn't mean we are taking over the forum or being derogatory to the land of our birth but rather we are trying to add a little colour to what could become somewhat trite if the threads and postings were confined to local subjects.
Yes XRH59,it is the individual's choice and I will be the first to acknowledge that and given the opportunity would gladly make the trip to England to have a pint with you to celebrate your happiness.
If my reference to animals was taken as a sleight on anyone's character,I apologise but it was intended in general terms only because here in Oz we actually do refer to some as animals in an endearing sort of way, just ask my fellow Aussies on this forum.

Just had to cop an awful bagging from the Aussies over here on our dismal performance in the League and the cricket. Now I come on to this site and get a pfizzin of the Wigan'ers cause I live in Oz. I am sick of the convict jokes, the god save your gracious Queen, the we are the best at everything we do, our country is beautiful, my car is bigger than yours, my dad can beat yours up...etc. Its pathetic. So here is my take...Neighbours is crap and its on once a day here. Emmerdale, Corry, Eastenders are on 3 times a day here, and guess what...they are crap too! Ya can keep Rolf Harris, asked my kids had they heard of him, not one, so he is crao too. Adrian Morley was a good friend of ours whilst he was over here. He is a gentleman and pleasure to be with, he works hard for charity and can always be counted on. I dont like Mason myself, but again people who do say he is exactly like Morley in his charity work. We saw Kylie in concert, she was good, anyhow she lives in France, works in England and sends all her money here. Anyhow I,m off to the pub this afternoon to meet up with Ken and the Sydneylass from this site, so I will have a pint for you all. And one last thing, This country is great its just the people....English people are great, its just the country and where it is and who they have let in.....

As far as the brawling at the tennis is concerned, all I can say is it is a bad advertisement for multi-culturalism, integration when serbs and croatians are fighting in Austalia. Absoloutely nothing to do with tennis, brought their troubles with them.

Brian Carney - think there is more to that than meets the eye, we might find out the real story in a couple of weeks.
