I tried to improve the VE photo posted by CanalAli. I was interested because my grandmother was born in 1898 in Forge Street which might be seen in the background. Later she moved to Clarington Grove, less than 200 yards away.

The colourisation is lovely, Keith. I was born in Ince but only in 1952 so missed all this! However, I know whereabouts it is and remember Forge Street being a very long street.
