My mum's unearthed this photo of the VE Day party in the backs of Broomfield Terrace, Broomhey Terrace and Canal Row, Higher Ince. My mum, Marlene Fenn as was, is the third child in on the left side of the table (although she looks really small for four, which she would have been at the time) and behind her is my nana, Hannah, or, as she preferred, Nan.
Some of the other families (OK, mainly mothers and children) in the pic are the Harrisons, the Turners, the Murrays, the Connors and the Yates, who had the corner shop.
