Harry, I didn`t know anyone made a 200cc motorbike.
DOT made a scramble bike with a 197cc Villiers engine.
You`ve made a slight error with the consumption unit lol.
lovely bike, not many about now-a bike like that in good nick would probably be worth £5k now
Ernest your right as usual, should have put 100 mpg, can't get much past you can we. My very first bike was a BSA Bantam from Rogersons I didn't have it long, I got it to travel to evening classes in Manchester, kept getting wet so Got rid and got a Morris Minor. Cheers H.
I had a DMW 2 stroke, with a 225cc engine...Ever heard of them?
I also had a Honda Benly like this. A good, reliable workhorse.
Wrote it off at the Saddle junction on Christmas Eve 1979, thanks to the defective street lights and potholes Wigan Highways Dept. have always specialised in.
One of my mates had one in 1956/57 it was a beige colour
There is a Benley 200 in Orrell just like this one and its mint its only done about 200 miles from new. They dont fetch a lot of money even a mint one.
The DMW were made in Wolvrhampton it would have had a villiers 225cc 1H engine.
I have a Norman B2S with a villiers 200cc ( 197 ) engine at the moment, loads of bike manufacturers used the villiers engines in the 50s and early 60s. James, Francis Barnett, and Norman among others.
My Norman is for sale on ebay at the moment.
Harry c. My dad remembers you buying the motorcycle from his shop…he still has a fantastic memory
