Odd photo. I didn't know RN sailors were allowed to grow jut a moustache (middle row left), I thought they had to be either clean shaven or have a full beard. Those were certainly the rules during my 22 years in the mob.

Yes, Tom - he's wearing his sweat band in a similar way in the football team pic - maybe he was on leave when it was taken.
