Ros, what a fantastic photo, I just love these old family pictures. Subjects those days were asked not to smile as they could not hold the smile long enough whilst the camera took the image, it was easier to keep a straight face. Love the pic Ros you are lucky to have aa copy.

Wigginlad,I agree I think these old photos are lovely for children, grand children, and in this case gg- grandchildren.They are a treasure to have in the family.Lovely photo Ros.

Ros, I had a childhood friend.Pauline Jones she lived in Caunce St Scholes.Houses demolished in 1970s.Wonderd was she a relative.

Thank you! It's one of my most treasured pictures. We are fortunate my grandfather left us lots of his childhood family photos, so we've got a whole treasure trove of memories from Wigan, even though sadly I've not made it there myself yet. Something to plan for!

Edna, I'm afraid I don't know of any Paulines in the family, but we did have relatives out that way, so it's possible! I'll keep any eye out for the name. :)
