i have the same photo on my wall at home i lived on the other side of the road we used to swing on the gates when we where kids great days
My father used to work there, and on Saturdays when I was a boy he would take me with to the Works. I used to wander around inside the sheds looking at steam engines and wagons in for repair. Everything was so peaceful and quiet in complete contrast to the working week. I can close my eyes and still see those images; oh happy days
Officially "Manchester Road Crossing" and the old coach that you can see inside Central Wagon was given to Ince Parish Church and handballed by loads of us(men women and kids) across the track to the right and up and onto the "Rec" to be used as changing rooms for the football team.
