I used to catch the train to Urmston from here every Saturday.I used to help out in a shop owned by Mr &Mrs Morris, who used to have the papershop in Belle Green Lane. I always met my auntys dad on the return journey,as he came home from working at Irlam steelworks.Wish I could push rewind on the remote to take me back then.

I remember this station from the mid to late 1950's,going with my Mum to visit some of her relatives who had moved to Islam for work in the steelworks. My Grandma and Aunty and Uncle lived in Christopher Street nearby, and my cousins were always playing in 'the jungle'near the clinic.Happy memories.
