Is this by the side of where The Little Theatre now stands? Water Heyes?

It’s at the side of Scholes Bridge Irene I’m presuming - further down from those old buildings on the photo from the other day that Ron posted. The bridge is more or less at the end of the Amy Lane. Water Heyes is the bridge on Greenough St. You could walk from Water Heyes and come out at Scholes Bridge. I don't remember the buildings though. Too long ago for me…

The other photo is better than this one but for some reason I have no memory of it. Yet I must have passed the place many times.

I do vaguely recall a ‘showroom’ for cars…plus other buildings further along in Millgate. Hannon’s ‘rag’ shop especially. I remember once going in there with my mam. It was more like an old damp cellar you had to step down into it. God knows
what she was looking for! Although she crafted many a peg rug and she knitted a lot. I imagine she may have been looking for sacking for the back of the rugs she made. The early to mid fifties wasn’t a very opulent time.

I think the car showrooms was Fosters,Also on the other side of the railway bridge was Bolton skin & hide works.
