The post card really tells a story about the company and their work! What a neat card! Thanks for sharing it.
The walling and paving are a very nice art deco design, and wonderfully superb, reminds me of the design of the Leverhulme gardens at Rivington.
The company was founded in 1767, in Ravenhead, Sutton, Lancashire (hence the name).
Disappointed!
But only because I was expecting it to be about Ravenhead Glass.
OK, mea culpa.
Or 'my bad' as they apparently say nowadays.
It clearly states "sanitary pipe and brick" on the postcard, no mention of glass. The link between Ravenhead Brick, Ravenhead Glass and Ravenhead Colliery is the fact that they were all sited in Ravenhead.
Another claim to fame for Ravenhead is that the coal cutting machine, the Anderton Shearer-Loader was developed at Ravenhead Colliery.
Hang on Mick.
I've already profusely apologised in advance.
What do you want, blood?
