Wigan Album

There is a sign on the left here saying Welcome to Wigan, and a sign on the right side coming out of Wigan indicating that this is the border between Wigan and Standish with Langtree.

Beneath the road sign you can see the Boundary Stone.
On the top is marked: Boundary 1904
To the left it states: L.C.C Standish with Langtree Urban District Council.
To the right it states: County Borough of Wigan.
It is still there today outside a very pretty house 387 Wigan Lane, Wigan.
The house next door on the left I assume to be on Wigan Road, Standish.

Yes it is i have seen the Wigan police when they reached here would turn round and head back to town

The road is a bit busier nowadays !
