I've always loved long evening gloves,only worn them once though,to a wedding.I can remember my Mum having some strappy silver dancing shoes.Lovely evocative photo.x

What great photos! Made me think my mom might have attended these dances - she would have been in her teens to 20s. Her name was Alice Green from Bryn.

Veronica Almond's shop in Scholes sold all this glamorous attire. Me and my childhood friend spent hours gawping in the window. Again wishing we were grown up...

Very glamorous these ladies dresses, lovely photo Brian.. My sister in law got her wedding dress from Veronica Almond's, they've just had their 65th anniversary.

Hi Jim yes she lived on Wigan road first house on the left over the railway bridge heading to Ashton she was a hairdresser,don’t know about a sister
