Shawls and bonnets - how wonderful and you can almost smell lavender. The woman second left isn't bothered as she's carrying on with her tatting.

I don't know Tom, they've got quite feminine looking hands and not at all like pit men's or pit head girl's hands, though with the two sitting on the right hand side looking like Cissie and Ada (aka Les Dawson and Roy Barraclough) I can see where you're coming from.
