Sammys flood looking towards Hindley from Platt Bridge 1968, now called Low Hall local nature reserve and covered with trees ect.

The white building behind the branch on the left was the Holland hosiery on Liverpool Rd.At the top of the road was Hindley South station.The first spire is St.Peters church at the Bird,the smaller spire is St Johns at the top of Market St.The chimney to the right was the foundry up First Avenue and to the right of that the rectangular tall structure is Prospect Mill,which was the old paint works up Platt Lane and is still standing.

I spent many hours at Sammys Flood. It was my thinking place, a space for me to consider a lot about life. Happy memories :)

I don't know the area but a nice picture Tom.
Strange comment by James, how could a natural sunset over a misty lake have too much colour!
