How many of us as lads didn't have at least one of these books? Dated 1954, my brother used this one to record the locomotives that he fired during his time working at Springs Branch. It wouldn't be practical to show all the pages so I've concentrated on a few of the named locos. Each X indicates a firing shift. I note The Scottish Horse, an engine that has appeared on these pages quite recently was one that he fired. I know rolview is one, but how many lads can there possibly be left who worked these beasts?

I was a mad trainspotter late 50's early 60's,on a trip to leeds we visited all the sheds in leeds.culminating in the mighty leeds holbeck shed.i wanted just two royal scots shown above in your book 46109 royal engineer and 46127 old contemptibles.when we got to holbeck I asked in the office where's 46127,out Carlisle was the reply.i cant tell you how sad a small boy was, I never asked about 46109.
it was stuck in one of the roundhouses out of steam,so just failed by the solitary scot 46127 old contemptibles to fill my allocation. about 18 months later she was withdrawn from service and scrapped
