The truck looks like a Atkinson Octopus from the 1950s.

When the fair started up again after the war I was at the Grammar School. Lads would go on the big wheel and get stranded as the operator waited for the next punter. They got into all sorts of trouble when they were late for the afternoon session

Did the fair run in the afternoon when it was a working or school week...I don't remember it doing so?? Saturdays yes.

Yes Garry I remember visiting the fair on my way home from Girl`s high school so that would be a weekday.
