Taken from where Donkey Lane crosses the line. Trenchies' flash is just off to the right. The embankment coming in from the left carried the Pemberton Loop Line.

To me it was the Kirkby - Manchester express line. ;-))

Spent many happy hours swimming in the Trenchy, in the 1940s, with my school mates. It is a miracle we escaped catching a disease, with what was below the surface,

I came from spring view this was always know to me as the crack line ,and I used to swim in trenchie..happy days

This is the line that passed right across the back gate into Gullick Dobsons factory (off Laburnum avenue). You can see the Development shop in the background.
