Taken on same day as previous one, this shows the fronts of some of the houses in Preston St.

When this street was demolished Metrolite Industries factory was built on the same site.

That factory has now closed

Where Kwiksave was?

Preston St was directly opposite Britannia Bridge school, which is still there.
If you turned left at the top of the street, onto Warrington Rd the Big Rock pub was just down the road.

A bit of modernisation was all that was needed.
They were well built houses.

That is my mum Eileen Parkinson. She is with my sister Sarah and cousin Kathryn (Edwards). The photo is outside my grand parents house - Sarah (Sally) and Steve Murphy and I am pretty sure the Vauxhall Viva is my grandparents car. Incredible to find this picture.
