The backs of the houses you can see are on Warrington Rd, Lower Ince and the building in the background is Britannia Bridge school, which is still there.
Preston St along with James St and all the houses on the main road were demolished in around mid 80s I think.
Anyone know exact date?
I had an Auntie and Uncle and Cousins in that area in the 1060s. They lived in Frederick St,. then, when that was demolished, Cheltenham Ave. Their name was Parkinson.
My mams family came from Lower Ince and Spring View, they were Parkinsons

The young man in the photograph is my brother Howard Parkinson - he would have been 9/10 and I am pretty sure that he is photographed against my Grandparents car outside their house. I was about 4 years old when this picture was taken and I am sure my grand parents lived in Preston Street until maybe 1979/1982 ish moving out when the street was demolished. What memories.
The house in the background on the corner of Warrington Rd / Preston st was ours. Mum & Dad were Chris and Elizabeth Robers. Brother Chris as well.
