Bryn Rd, brings back memories. Did you know of the Lowe family, I believe from Downall Green Rd.

Shop name is actually Park Lane Co-op, not Long Lane, even though Bryn Rd itself was formerly Long Lane. There were a lot of branches of Park Lane Co-op in the area in those days.
Ken R, our neighbour was Alan Lowe, number 316, (I think Alan was a roofer).

I remember all the men stood or sat on a bench outside Harry Winstanleys house which was separated from the coop by the road leading down to the old golf club and the three sisters
Thats right Wuz. All the men seemed to meet there, smoking and chatting.
this photo has just jogged my memory,Alan Lowe lived two houses away he was a welder who got burned really bad in an accident when on of the tanks blew up.bill brenan and his mates sat on that bench.
Alan Lowe lived next door Brian, Vera and Bill Jones lived next door but one.
