It was a great place for a walk, up to Top Lock along the canal bank, or to Wigan Pier in the other direction.
Fantastic memories!
St. Patricks Church in the background .
He's gorgeous, Margaret!
Seen this beautiful fellow before , I think. He is gorgeous Margaret and you must still miss him .
Margaret..he really was a handsome dog wasn't he?..and his name suited him down to the ground...hope your'e keeping alright.
Margaret , when I lost my dog about 14year ago, a customers little girl brought this poem into the shop, bothe my wife and myself found it very moving.
High up in the courts of heaven today, a little dog angel waits ,with the other angels he will not play,he sits alone at the gates.Someday my master will come says he, and when he does he will call for me ! .
Thank you all for your lovely comments.
I'm keeping quite well Maureen and I hope you and Cliff are also. I haven't forgotten your thoughtfulness when you painted that lovely picture of Henry.
Thomas, that little poem was beautiful and it made me cry. I too believe that one day we will be reunited with our wonderful pets. They are a precious gift from God, so He's not going to take them away!
when my dog (dusty) was alive, that was one of my daily walks, the only difference between mine and Henry was, dusty had to go in the water, I took him for a walk 3 times a day, varying the route but with living locally, Fosters was at least once a day, I met quite a few good people on the canal as well as some good dogs, sadly my mutt died 8 years ago at 15, and there wasn't much difference in looks between the two dogs, mine being a border collie as well, I sue miss that dog, but I swore I would never have another one, you get so attached to them.
