Yes that`s the 3 sisters in the background .On the left is the now demolished Landgate Tech and beyond that the now boarded up Golden Ball

I remember when there was only a handful of houses on Soughers lane.. three on the left, not counting the semis at the junction of Drummers lane and about six or seven on the right as you were going down..Changed a lot, just like everywhere else.... Forgot about the terraced houses at the bottom..

My grandparents lived on Wigan Road, right opposite the entrance to Soughers Lane. My grandfather played the piano in the Golden Ball at the weekends. Opposite the top of the Lane lived Mr Waterhouse, who taught at Rectory School in the 1940/50s, he had a model railway in the garden that was large enough to ride on and he would invite the children round some times during the summer holidays. Happy days.
