About nine years ago we went to the NW station with two of our grandsons to watch this train come through. Not such a great photo I'm afraid.

The number seems to end in a seven, as does the Sir Nigel Gresley's.

Mallard's BR number was 60022. However, it reverted to it's original number of 4468 in preservation. Mallard also has streamlined casings over the driving wheels. The loco in the picture is Gresley.

The men you can see at the end of the platform had a tripod and proper photographic equipment so they should have got a really good picture.

the loco is 60007 sir nigel gresley it is the B R number it carried after 1948 was normally an Eastern region loco,now preserved and runs on specials, it is based at North Yorks Moors railway
