Billy brick on the left , Ronnie Cunliffe centre , and Dave Ingham , my transport manager on the right .
Someone in Wigan must surely know Billy .
This is the only photo of Billy brick that I have .
Billy were a decent sort .
He’s gett’n his Christmas jumper on an’ all t’lad has .
ee ! … I’m coming over all emotional now .
I’ve noticed that this internet experiences difficulty in recognising dialect words , so it sometimes makes me wonder how it would cope with Navajo .
Anyroad … best see where t ‘cat’s geet to …
It’s close on bedtime for me .
Hi ozy, I recognised Billy straight away I worked with him years ago on security at the then JJB Stadium, wonderful fella used to drink with him and his brother Jimmy on Woodhouse lane, always respected Billy he was the strong silent type of guy, great pic of him here in his prime ozy.
Ozy, Dave Ingam got Richrad Hammonds eyes
What was Billy’s surname Dave ? Was it Regan ? I’ve fergetten .
Well , if Dave Ingham’s got Richard Hammond’s eyes , that would explain why Hammond keeps smashing all these daft cars of his up wouldn’t it Mick ?
It was Billy Lythgoe. I knew him and his brother Jimmy very well.
When Jimmy got married he lived in Beech Hill. Originally I think they were from Marsh Green. I know they used to go in the Stork.
I used to drop on Billy, and his drinking partner, Joe up town usually in the Clarence back in the day.
That’s right Rich , it was Lythgoe .
It came to me the other day in fact , but I forgot it again . Put it down to old age eh .
I always thought that Billy lived in Beech Hill when he worked at the brickworks .
Is he still around do you know ? It must be 35 years or more since I last saw him .
I've not seen Billy since his brothers funeral which would at a guess be about 12 years ago. I know he used to drink in the Belle Vue pub on Woodhouse Lane and also the pub accross the road which used to be clowns.
I don’t know if you were ever a patron of Clowns bar Rich , but the lad in the middle , Ronnie Cunliffe had two daughters that used to dance on the bar in that place in the 80s .
They’re probably drawing their pensions now rather than drawing the crowds .
The lad on the right. Dave Ingham wasn’t a Wiganer . He was from Blackburn originally but moved to Burscough when he got the job at Ravenhead .
If Heineken made transport managers , then Dave would probably be the best that I ever worked with .
And speaking of Heineken , for a little bloke , he couldn’t half shift his ale .
I haven’t seen the lad for over 35 years now and I have no idea where he is either ... Probably in the renal unit of some hospital somewhere I should imagine .
Cheers Dave , wherever you are mate , and tell ‘em to put it on my tab .
