Wigan Album

In 1994, The Queensway Tunnel (under the River Mersey) celebrated it Diamond Jubilee (60years). Over 300 historic vehicles in convoy travelled through the tunnel from Liverpool to Birkenhead including this 1958 Wigan Corporation Bus (DJP 754) built by Northern Counties. As we live on the Wirral, my family stood at the crowded exit to the Mersey Tunnel as they paraded through from Liverpool to the Transport Museum in Birkenhead. I guess during my younger days I would have caught this bus either to /from Standish into Wigan.
