Some work horses there ozy, the truck on right looks like the one Sandra Cullen used to drive.
It’s exactly like the one that Sandra had Dave but her fleet No was 7999 iirc . The truck in this shot belonged to John Birch .
John Birch I worked with him when that plant was took over by Hanson.
Queen st . was a crappy plant to deliver to .
George , the bloke at the top of the ramp tipping aggregate … Well simple enough with an eight legger , but try doing it with a bender … on the blind side , and in a restricted space , AND backing in from bloody Queen St. with all the lunatics hammering round the corner out of Wallgate .
It sorted the sheep out from the goats and no mistake .
And note the legs on the cement tanker are down to lend a bit of stability .
We had one go over once . Not this one , but another from the same outfit with a different driver .
No one injured fortunately , but I’ll bet when the drivers looked at their delivery address and saw Wigan, they broke out into a cold sweat .
Hunger Hill was a doddle by comparison .
Correct Ozy it was like Brands Hatch I much preferred Hunger Hill plant especially doing Middlebrook and Trafford Centre but they aren’t busy now central shipping office in London never be any good.
Central shipping was always a waste of resources John … paper qualifications versus real experience is the way that I saw it .
Pioneer booted it out at one point , but sadly , it was reinstated following the merger … More’s the pity .
