Ron, I remember going through the illuminations on one just like this. The folks in Crawford Avenue, Aspull arranged it for us kids, I would be about 5 years old 1952, great memory of exited kids wide eyed as we went through the lights. This coach is JP7839, I guess the year it was built was 1950 as Wigan Corporation bought 30 Leyland PD2 double decker buses that year, JP8300-8329.

This AEC Regal III with Bellhouse-Hartwell bodywork was new to Smiths in July 1949. It was rebodied in 1959 with a Duple body taken from an ex-Ribble coach.
