Come on viewers..someone must know these girls...perhaps it is you....remember well taking a number of photographs and then putting them up in the canteen in the works for people to order copies.
Don't hold back...please add a few names and any stories ...John B
There are a lot of people here...surely we can put names to some of these great ladies I use to work with in the early 60's
Now 2017 and no additions....come on folk....sure I can't be on my own here !
Does anyone remember Mr and Mrs Skeath, Ivy and Frank who worked there ? I used to work with their daughter, Brenda, who sadly died in 1980 in her late twenties. They were lovely people. I remember being invited to their house for Sunday dinner, as we had to work all day Sundays when it was the November Balance.(Long before everything was computerised!)
My mam worked there in the 70s she worked with a Phyllis Barbour from Bamferlong I think she had a son called Roy any relation? John
me again....Do you know folk....I must be the only survivor of those early years
...I left in 1963 and now as I write December 2021...get in touch if you can....love to hear from you....
My uncle Len Houghton was a manager at De Haan and his wife Eunice worked in the factory. Len and Eunice were good friends of Frank and Ivy mentioned above. My mum Audrey worked in the office. At the time we lived at the bottom of Park Lane then moved to a shop near Kingsdown Road. Live in Spain now.
