Roy Painter 3rd left back row, next the smallest goalkeeper ever to pull on a sam Bartram jersey, can´t remember his name. Holding the ball is Alan Hallsworth.

Billy Anglesea was a great footballer,he would play wearing his glasses and still head the ball.

Les Wilding achieved fame as an old friend of the famous Bernard Dowdall.

Didnt James Holding go to Wigan GS?
Ah! Roy Painter. A lad from Bamfurlong I remember well along with his sidekick Ray Dowling. Yes a smoked many fag with him outside Fanny Orgill's in Hallgate. Or when strapped you went to Essie Abrams in Richmond Street who would sell you half a woody.
Yes those were the days hanging tough outside the cig shops. Gent, Naylor, Tony Doran and Kev Bond. I remember them well.

The initial for Scally is A for Tony Scally. I would be very happy to hear from anyone on this Photo w.ho remembers me. I now live in Dorset. I still remember that day at the Latics old ground
