St Marks School in Newtown, c1946.

My father, also called Derek Finch, is on the front row, sixth from the right. At the time of this photograph, my father was living at number 1 Cawdor Street (long since demolished).

Hi Derek,If this is the same D.Finch who wasin my year at Highfield Sec.Mod.he would only have been 2yrs old in 1946.Are you sure of the date. Jim Muldoon.

Yes, I'm sure the date is correct. My dad was born in 1940, and although he did go to Highfield, I think there was also another Finch there at the same time.

Does anyone know if the little girl with blonde hair in the middle row near the middle with her head tilted to one side is Mary Foster

The little girl in question is a twin, her sister is next to her. Sorry but I cannot find their name but I know they lived on Eleanor Street, off Pottery Road.

The Derek Finch that was only 2 in 1946 lived on Heather Grove near Union Bridge
