Hi Jose. I'm Margaret Lowe from Parallel class finishing the 6th form in 1973. That was a very lovely art room I remember; right at the top of the building. Was the art teqacher Mr Mason? He was always going on about Any Warhole and Surrealist paintings.
He was quite trendy for our very formal school.

Great to know you remember me Beth. I'm good but never travelled very far. Still live in Horwich and married with 1 daughter and 1 grandaugter. Ironically I hated history at school but nnow can't get enough of it. Hoping to take a degree in it when I retire as my undying passion is Egypt. I've been about 16 times now.

Linda. Wow. I wondered when I'd see you making comments on here. I just wish some of our other schoolfriends would. I often drift back to those days. I never appreciated them then and wish with all my heart I had stayed on and studied history. When I retire my long held ambition is to sudy for a degree in history.

I remember the art room with horror, I couldn't draw or paint at all and was surrounded by natural artists like Pat Miller who was in my class. Miss Hawkins taught art in those days she was lovely but I was hopeless and gave the subject up with joy in form 3 Alternative when we picked our subjects for our O Levels. Loved it in the 6th form wing when we had our own study rooms 4 to a room. Happy memories

I was there between 1964 and 1970. I remember Beth Hall as she went to my primary school, St John's as well

Hi Celia. The best thing about art was listening to the loudspeakers at Wigan Rugby League ground. If my memory serves me correctly they tested them by playing pop records very loudly. Happy days.

I came across this page by accident whilst looking for a photo of the old Ashton baths. I was at the convent from 1960 to 1965 in parallel. We had Miss Dwyer for maths and her sister Miss Dwyer for English. I remember my very close school pals Pauline Gaskell, Eileen Wilson and Sue Bradley. I remember very cold legs in the first and second years. discovered stockings under the woolly ankle socks in the 3rd year which we got away with. Living in the East Midlands now.
