I was there to see the team beat the best of St.Helens.The toughest team to beat was St.Patricks from Wigan.
Another All Saints` player some years on was Alex Murphy, who found fame as a St. Helens player

Brian Halliwell.
Alex Murphy certainly never attended All Saints school, in fact he attended and played for the St Helens school team that All Saints team beat in the Daily Dispatch trophy final, which was St Austin's school from Thatto Heath St Helens.Austin Rhodes was the star school boy player at St Austin's school, and Alex Murphy later stared in turn for the same St Austins school team.
