Me at Bickershaw walking day. I was 4, it was 1953. The other lad is Jimmy Maudsley with his Mam. We were lining up in the square at Bickershaw. We looked back because the Boy's Brigade had kicked off with bugles and drums. Mrs Eaves, had made my suit. Her son John, his headmaster at Abram Colliery School now, in Bickershaw Lane.
