Similar photo on Album states the date 1961. I remember a couple of those girls younger than me. Mr Finney holding fast on the banner.
Veronica I'll tell Tom off forgiving me duff information when I see him next...
I don’t think for one minute he would mind Ron. I know the little girl 4th from the left. She lived in the corner shop on HighamSt /Belvoir St.
she was a lot younger than me I would have been 9 at that time she would have been about 3 or 4 yrs old.
Ron ,in my defence when I forward the photo I did say Circa 1955. But I know it's wide of the mark, Sorry. My reason for the date, I realise my mistake,
I thought one of the girls was Margaret Stockley .
Veronica the girl from corner shop did family emigrate to Canada or am I wrong again, if so I may be sent to Siberia.
Tom take 100 lines' I MUST GET THE DATES CORRECT ON ANY FUTURE IMAGES I PUT ON THE WIGANWORLD WEB SITE'. To be written in Latin..
Tom it was Margaret Stockley’s little sister Linda. She looked very much like Margaret.
Judith, the other little girl was Lilian Hart’s younger sister there was also a brother called Anthony( Tony) who was the eldest. You may remember Rosaleen Hanley ( Hart) who previously had a shop in Wellington St. before she owned the shop it was Wadsworth’s and they emigrated to Canada, you are correct.
Before Wadsworth’s it was Rushton’s. Was Anthony in your age group? I know he was older than me. He went to John Fisher.
