St Patrick's Walking Day. I can't be sure of the date ,but the pub was demolished circa 1968. Looks like it could be 1950's?

I remember wearing a hat like those on my last walking day at school in 1961 holding a streamer on St Patrick's Banner. It looks like on the way to the Market Square.

The Landlord and Landlady were Mike and Peggy
Mc Donnell as nice a couple you would wish to meet. Peggy's Father Pat Fraine kept the Wigan Arms and her sister Mary kept the Vulcan on Hardybutts
