Never knew that there was a SHYC. Some familiar faces but the only one I can put a name to is John Grimes who's the third sailor from the left (next to the bearded-one).

The 'Bearded One' was my brother Michael. I see a few familiar faces but only three names I'm sure of. Front row 4th from right Norma Latham,behind her is Eileen Charnock, next but one on her left is Kathleen Maudsley.

Frank, I do not recognise anyone, if it was 1952 John Grimes would only be 10yrs old so ???????

Hi Jack. I see John Grimes every now and again in the Mesnes Road Newsagents (a bit further up from the Brocket). About 18 months ago I mentioned the SHYC photo to him and, as far as I know, he did look at it but has never passed comment. The next time I see him I'll ask.

(Sister) Ann is familiar with a few faces but not names. Pauline's comment that one is Eric Atherton is interesting since we knew the family very well (back-gates only 20 yards apart, if that); as far as I can remember the Atherton's belonged to St.Andrews parish.

Well shiver my timbers! I only recognise two of the names: Eric Atherton and Margaret Shannon. Although I knew the Atherton family well I would never have realised in a month of Sundays that it was Eric.
