The picture is of the backs of the houses of Leader Street and Lorne Street, just behind Cecil street. Our house being one of those still standing and the ones in Cecil Street also still intact.
John ,is there a record of casualties , a very interesting photograph .thank you.
Great photo JohnAlan and very interesting local information. Tom if you go to http://www.wiganworld.co.uk/album/photo.php?opt=8&id=12573&gallery=ZEPPELIN+RAID+1918&offset=0
you will see just where the bombs landed in Wigan - I think the total killed was 7 and not 5 as I stated in that posting.
I was brought up very close to Cecil Street and the picture is interesting. But I can't figure out what I am looking at. To which street do the buildings in the background belong?
Fabulous picture John, I am sure my mum and dad would have loved to have seen them.
