Parbold
Photo: . Ozy .

My previous two posts would appear to indicate that Parbold hill was a chosen part of the vehicle test route for both Leyland Motors and Atkinson Vehicles . This shot depicts a Leyland Octopus coming over what I believe to be the canal bridge in Parbold , with the windmill being just out of shot to the right of the frame , although the title of the shot states “ incline approaching Parbold hill “. ( which it obviously isn’t ) . My only evidence being a modern google street view comparison shot . It’s possible that I’m mistaken , but I’d be interested to learn what others think . By the way Ray , you can stick this one on as well if you like pal … and what do you reckon the trailing wagon is ? Wouldn’t be a Thames 4D by any chance would it ?…. or could it be a Comet ? One of those rivet counters on TNUK will definitely know .
