That's lovely, Poet! Such a peaceful scene....I like churchyards and often have a stroll around the one in Abram, but not so early in the day. The photo reminds me of a long-ago Christmas morning when we took our late beloved dogs to Borsdane Wood in Hindley for a walk and the sun was filtering through the trees and there was a slight mist; it was magical. There is just something special about sunlight shining through trees.

God said “ Let there be Light” and there was light.
God divided the Light from the Darkness….
(Genesis 1;3 -5)
Interesting photo on the first day of week it gave me the shivers!

Hope they don't cut those trees down they're superb, though they have had plenty nourishment from the ground and it's where we'll end up, as it also says in Genesis 3:19 KJV, In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Cyril, your quote about us returning to dust reminded me of Hylda Baker when her brother, (played by Jimmy Jewel), said he was leaving his body to medical science. She said, "Oh, that's nice that is!....And where will YOU be on the day of adjudication, when Gabriel sounds 'is 'orn?.....Scattered all over the Infirmary .....in jam jars!" I always use the fact that we "turn to dust" as an excuse not to dust, in case it's somebody I know! Lol!

Irene, I read about Hylda Baker and Jimmy Jewell actually hating each others guts, but they never showed it when acting, though I'm sure they really enjoyed saying those scripted comical put downs that they said to each other in Nearest & Dearest, i.e. Eli "you knock Kneed knackered old nosebag," Nellie " you bow legged brewers boil," etc,.

One of our patients at Whelley Hospital was Hylda Bakers cousin and was so much like her, only a bigger woman, she didn't have anything nice to say about her though.

Aye John, and it was always a very tall man dressed up as a woman who played the part of Cynthia.
