When it rains it rains. Heavy showers swept across the region. I hope no one was caught in the sudden downpours and the drains coped with all the water and there was minimal flooding. It is normally this time of year when the gulley's get full of leaf's and then the drains get blocked.

Raining? In Shangri-La Shevy? Surely not? I hope you got your plastic Mac out of your saddle bag in time Mick.

You'd not far to go to get out of it Mick, or did you bob in the Plough for a swift one ?

Comment by: Fred on 31st October 2022 at 12:09

A good pic of the very heavy rain, but it was only last week, I posted just two photos for pad on the 12th September, no sign of them yet.

It doesn't look inviting on here anyway,.........I thought the sun always shined on the chosen who live in Shangi-Shevi !

It does appear to be very heavy.

Don’t hold your breath Fred , as they’ll probably never appear .
Todays photo is five on the trot for Mick . Tomorrow we’ll likely be back to five or six on the trot from Dennis no doubt …
I’m sure you must be familiar with the pattern of events by now .

No disrespect intended to the lads in question however , as they can hardly be held responsible for whose photos get published and whose don’t can they ?…..
….Although it’s little wonder some people give up even trying is it ?

Dave Green came in for a fair bit of stick a few years ago , although I don’t recall seeing six or more consecutive shots of his appearing
on here ….
Could be wrong of course , but I don’t intend trawling back through a decade of p.a.ds in order to prove a point .

Ozy I gave you a knock this afternoon, I had just had two new tyres fitted to my bike at the brick.
The top of the range ones are now £30 each so that was £60.
My mud flap on the back wheel had come off so I called to see if you had any going spare, but after talking to the brick about it they said you can make one out of a 2 litre milk bottle, so I did and it looks good.

Toil away is tiresome,
Grind just joins a pair ,
Listening to those in charge ,
Brings sigh, to ones despair ,
Rain just makes a hat trick ,
Umbrella snaps to please ,
But the door that holds my local ,
Swings open and with ease .
Drowned rat I do enter ,
But warming fire I meet , refreshing pint I nourish ,
meet hands the ones I greet ,
Four or five pints later ,
I beam a happy smile ,
my red cheeks full and glowing ,
My raindrops cast a mile ,
No longer do I worry ,
No longer do I care ,
For now a new pint waits me ,
and the rest, I leave somewhere ..

I think you may have a point Ozy.
The thing is, when I go for a walk I always take my little camera with me and when I get back it’s easy to send two or three that I think may be of interest to P.A.D while I am downloading them to my iPad.
But, has you say, I don’t pick the ones that are used. At the same time I have no wish to stop anyone else from getting their photos shown because I’m sure that there are a lot of interesting photos out there.
Having said that I do enjoy P.A.D so maybe I’ll just send the odd one or two in now and again in future.
I’m sure that the more people who send photos in and the better this site will be.

Ozy are you saying there's a CLICK on P-a-D.

Comment by: . Ozy . on 31st October 2022 at 20:06

Please don’t allow me to influence whatever it is you do that gives you pleasure Dennis , and I was hoping that I’d made it clear that the choice regarding selection of the p.a.d. shots was in no way attributable to either yourself or Mick…..although It has been hinted at previously by others , that the selection process appears to be somewhat biased at times .

And as the normal year only consists of 365 days , then basic arithmetic dictates that there can only be the same amount of p.a.ds in one year .

I don’t blame any of the contributors for the evident imbalance in the choice of submissions , so where does that leave us ?
Perhaps someone could suggest where the blame lies ?

I personally have submitted a number of photos that have never been included , as have many others , Fred included evidently .

To conclude ;
I sincerely hope that I haven’t offended you Dennis . There can be no blame attached to anyone who is willing to take the trouble to go about with a camera and then submit the resulting images to this forum .

Hope we’re still mates …
…eh ?

Regards . Ozy .

It must have been after 1430 when you called Mick , as after that , I was out , buggering about around Leyth , putting bloody boards out for Silcock .

I'm pleased that you went to The Brick for your tyres ; yon Simon’s a top bloke , and I doubt you'd have got your tyres cheaper anywhere else …..
…..and fitted to boot .

Call again sometime…you may eventually catch me in .

Failing that , just shove a note down the chimney .

Comment by: Dennis Seddon on 31st October 2022 at 20:52

No offense taken at all, Ozy. Good luck to everyone who sends in a photo.
Still mates.

Comment by: . Ozy . on 31st October 2022 at 21:10

Please don’t think that I’m ignoring you Garry .
If you read my previous posts , then it should become clear what my thoughts are regarding p.a d …..
…..and how are you keeping mate ?…
O.K. I hope …..and how’s your little dog ?

Soon be time to crack the sherry bottle open anyway eh pal ?

And what do you reckon to these obscene rises in energy prices eh ?

Remember when 1 cwt of coal was around about ten bob ?

I reckon there’ll only be thee and me that’s warm this winter . All the rest of them will be sat shivering around the Christmas tree with their cardigans on drinking egg flip …Ha ha ha …
I have little sympathy with anyone who’s daft enough to buy a house without a chimney .

The way things appear to be heading though , you won’t be able to purchase a chainsaw soon , and most of the trees in Bottling Wood will have disappeared by 2026 .

I realise it’s a bit early , but all the best for the festive season anyway Gazza .

. Ozy .
