great photo, brings back memories. was the last pub on our pub crawl from Wigan. We used to notice that everyone in there drank halves instead of pints.

A grand building indeed. The person designing the lighting certainly got it right, no need for trendy garish effects here.

Does anyone remember the long bar in the Legs of Man?
linma - I like your son's sense of humour. The Cherry Gardens was never really a boozer, more a hotel/club 1950s style.
