Another Haigh Foundry Mile Marker by David Long (Sony SLT-A65V)
This looks if it could be just two miles further down the road from the marker shown here on the 20th inst. - but it is in fact on a different road altogether.

Is this along the road to Worthington, going towards The White Crow pub?

I would guess it is Irene, as I have seen one like this on Wigan Lane past the sand quarry and near a farm, wonder if these mile markers were cast at the original Leyland Mills Haigh Foundry, or are replicated by the J T & E Castings, Valley Gate Haigh Foundry.

Cyril, I think I'm wrong actually. The background isn't right. I don't think it's the one I was thinking of.

I know where it is, it's 5 miles from Wigan and 3 1/4 miles from Chorley, lol, sorry David, I couldn't resist..
