You must be on a boat

Hail Heron! Robber of ponds!
Set to smash the plate
Of the quivering water.
In a sudden flash
You blow the safe and abscond
With one wave of Pterodactyl wing
You're over the next field.
Your flight silent.
Legs trailing.
Beak stashed with silver.

Surely, Poet at his creative best; Salient points with a nice flow and fair bite.
Great photo, David.

I’m in awe of your poetic use of language Poet. You conjour up the scene as graphically as David’s lovely photograph does.

‘Beak stashed with silver’. Wow!! Thank you.

Absolutely splendid Poet , would love to see your work alongside a coloured drawing like above , or just a pencil sketch . Either way , they should be in a book for others to enjoy as well . Thank you for posting David , well captured .

Heron's are always fascinating, unless of course you have a fish pond in the garden. We have lots near to me with a protected nesting island on the local lake
