You dont normally see Arum Lilies growing wild, there a very popular flower that you will find at funerals and events that are celebrating death so maybe they have been put here with somebody's ashes

I can think of better places for my ashes than Leeds & Liverpool canal!
I've seen a few dead bodies in there by accident over the years.
Beltin' pic by the way.

Normally it's a life that's celebrated not death. If the lillies were planted in memory of someone who fished there then that's a lovely thing to do.

Oh, mother, really, not again, see plumage blowin' dry
And only just our tuck enjoyed, riparian crumbs tossed high.

Then 'As you are', my bonny lot, 'til morning's swim below;
In direct line to yonder 'mill, we'll rise with rooster's crow.

“I think your Dad’s gone overboard with the flowers my little ducks!”

Beautiful photo Mick; nature can’t be beaten where beauty’s concerned.

One of your best, Mick.

...if not your best....

Beautiful photo.
