Resurfacing

Resurfacing
Renewing the road surface on Almond Brook Road, Standish. It was amazing how many cars ignored the ROAD CLOSED AHEAD signs and carried on down the road - despite the flashing yellow lights of the contractor’s vehicles in full view. Even so-called professional drivers of artics ploughed on regardless… and then had to reverse hundreds of metres back up the road until they could turn. I expect they were too busy on their mobiles to see the signs...

Im glad the council are doing Almond Brooke Road, because it was always a rough surfaced road for push bikes, it seemed it was made up of larger gravel than you see on many roads.

It's those Cundliffe brothers from Golborne again. Watching those lads perform ranks almost as fascinating as watching a skilful operator working a dragline navvy, or an experienced concreting gang laying a patterned concrete driveway.

too many ignorant drivers on the road putting worker lives at risk for a quick route

Driving standards are at an all time low. Just because someones passed the driving test, doesn't mean they can "drive" Some people are definitely more adept once behind the wheel. Some who have passed the test, will never become skilled drivers. To be a top notch driver, one has to become part of the machine. Its just like sport. We can all kick a ball, but most of us will never be good enough to play for England!
