I always have a meat and potato pie when I visit Wigan. Nothing like them anywhere. Tried both products and love them both. That reminds me, it`s getting time I tried them again.Wish they sold them in Canada
2 for a £1 or 1 for £1-40 take your pick if you have a family to feed.
If you look up in Wigan you see plenty of rooms above shops like on this photo empty.
Do pools pies not have a shop in wigan these days , I know you can buy them frozen at morrisons.

They had the World Pie Eating Contest in Wigan last week and they got the pies from Germany, apparently.
Brings back memories. One of these days I'll see my gran or mother, both long gone now, in one of the great pics posted on P-A-D. Merry Christmas all.

Poles pies were bought by Hollands and are now made at their factory near Burnley.
MarieM; in this weeks Wigan Observer it says that the pies for the eating contest where, at the last minute, found to be the wrong size but they used them!
