What a colorful night shot. Many years ago I worked there in the can making department during my student summer vacation.

Can`t see the red lights on the Winter Hill mast - probably just off the top of this photo.
Was this taken from same place as your 20th May`12 P-a-D, Jamie?

Spectacular!!!!! Took me a nano second then I saw it 57!!!! Great photo Jamie a lot better than construction photos!!! I know there is something about construction but I just can't put my finger on it. Great shot Cheers!!

It would have been a far better photo if it was taken in the daylight.

Good photo Jamie, I remember trying to take a similar photo 20 odd years ago, yours is much better than my attempt.

Mick, Jamie has already done it! See my comment at 01:41

Comparing it with the daylight one of May 20th is good and interesting

It would have been far better if it had been built somewhere else!!!!
It spoiled the area.....

Mick, refare to p-a-d 20th may for the same shot in the day! And yes Ernest same place but taken a few nights ago during the full moon when visibility was excellent!

I love night shots.. I used to love standing at the top of Windy Arbour or any elevated place and look out at all the lights, you could see for miles and miles.. Unlike where I live now, when you can't see anything for all the trees... I like your pic Jamie...

Brought a lot of work to Wigan, Tricia.

I know what you mean Janet, from our kitchen Window we have a near 180 degree unrestricted view all the way over to the Pennines, Manchester and further afield its lovely at night! Plus my kids love seeing the 57 lit up at night on the Heinz factory from their bedroom windows!

Great shot Jamie, makes Wigasn look like Las Vegas (well almost)

Comment by: Garry on 3rd October 2012 at 15:07

tricia: it spoiled the area...what do you care, you left Wigan behind some years ago! I thought all big companys look like that.

Jamie, how nice for you, I'd love to be able to look out at that view.. certainly makes the chore of washing the dishes more pleasurable..

What do you know , Garry...?certainly nothing about me. None of your business how I feel, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.
