I like it, it's a good pic...but somebody will be upset at a pic of a bird....

Like the bird bath John, how tall is the support?
Refer my comment on P-a-D at 07:00 on 15th May`12 for poem `A Blackbird`s Nest`- don`t know of any for a bird bath !!

Further to my earlier comment :-
A Bird In The Birdbath
A bird in the birdbath splashing around,
Failed to notice the cat, sneaking up on the ground.
Happily splashing in the little birdbath,
He became susceptible to the felines wrath.

Water splashed and feathers flew,
As the bird took off to the sky of blue.
Sadder and wiser he perched in the tree,
Staring down at the cat, that had made him flee.

Here`s another poem :-

BLACKBIRD FLIES

blackbird flies
onto bird bath
in its avian way
to sing and laugh

dips and ducks
feathers and shakes
its bobbing head
sweet picture makes

hops onto edge
flutters its wings
showers of droplets
on everything

takes look around
for foe or stranger
and disappears
out of danger

Great photo, she's enjoying herself too.

Shame about all the young birds that have perished in their nests in the recent floods in Wales and other places.

Comment by: David Barker on 15th June 2012 at 18:17

Well captured John.....like it.

There you are Dirty Harry.....wondered if you had gone away. You have been very quiet for a long time!!You only say all these things to wind us up don`t you ?

Comment by: Jean F (Wales) on 15th June 2012 at 21:07

We have 3 blackbirds visiting in our garden at the moment and are a joy to see.Mum dad and baby. They will follow us up the path to make sure we have food for them. They are quite comical because they run instead oh hopping like most birds.Where have all the robins gone?We havnt seen one at all so far..

Comment by: ann21 on 15th June 2012 at 21:09

I feel so sorry for the young blackbirds when they first come out of the nest. They are so gormless. I was in the garden next to two of them and they just looked at me til the mother came flying down and scutched them away.

Dirty Harry, were you frightened by the horror film the birds, you seem to have a hatred of gods beautiful creations. Get a life, go out and see the birds in their habitat, and maybe get a camera and see what you can do.
