How can you tell the difference between a Muntjac and a Roe deer.

Lovely photo. I never saw a wild deer at or near Haigh Hall, it must be a thrill to catch a shot like this.

Are there many of them John?
Muntjac were introduced from China to Woburn Park, Bedfordshire in the early 20th century and can breed at 8 months old and all year round.

Muntjacs are peculier in that they have tusks.I remember them from my zoo keeper days.Good Shot.

A fantastic photograph ,I walk through the estate almost everyday.I've only been fortunate to see a deer on one occasion,very early one morning on Higher Lane itself.

David would you believ i was stopped talikng to a guy with his dog ,as he walked off three of these little chaps walked out to the side of me quite undisturbed .
early morning walk around haigh hall as it comes light and youl see them .look on golf course ive been told that there is a big stag about .over the years ive seen a two stags realy big ones always early mornings aroun 5 -6 am first one i saw was at the owls at standish , then i saw another at worthington .ive been told that thay use the old rail way lines to move around .it pays to always carrie a camera .

These Deer are ten a penny round Shevy.

We get them in the field next to the M6

Just seen two run round the water dam thing near bottom of Coppull Lane.Beautiful sight.
