The subjects are not important, it is the quality of the photos which lead me to this part of the site first. Well done Ron!

I don't mind photos of birds as long as they're not one after the other for a week. All kinds of subjects have their place on here, but variation, please!

To those who don't like photographs of natural history, look away now, for I have constructed my own mobile hide, for use shortly.

I say it dosent matter about the quality its the interest it sparks.

I think we have too many birds on this site one or two every so often but a lot of people seem disappointed when we get birds. I know some of the photos are very good it is not a photography site for birds. Now deer around Wigan (which we know there is) would be more interesting

Speaking personally, I love the birds. But then,I love the pictures of Wigan (especially the latest three),the pictures of Upholland,Ince,Orrell,.. "and so,ad infinitum".They are all a delight for a forty year emigree...So keep them all coming;..and to all of the nay-sayers about birds, why don't you go out and take a few yourselves instead of complaining about what others do?

And to those who do, a heartfelt thankyou for what you do, you of brighten the days of at least this somewhat crotchety (at times) old woman!!!

With you Ellen. Everyone who sends in a pic has taken the time and had the patience to capture a moment in time. I appreciate each and every one no matter what the subject. Looking forward to the next one.

Love birdies but people and places are a little bit more interesting.

If you can't endure a photograph for 24 hours you must have a very limited attention span. Every day brings a fresh look at what Wigan means to its many inhabitants and those of us who have the misfortune to live elsewhere really appreciate your efforts.

To RG and Ol gal; I'm glad that at
least two people seem to agree with me!

To all the talented photographers and all those who work on Wiganworld, again I say thanks.

Comment by: Margaret on 22nd January 2012 at 10:06

Ol gal, I don't understand what you say about not be able to endure photographs. It is great that ex pats like you can look at photos of Wigan but from what is said here, a lot of people do not want to see so many birds. On some photos, you don't even see where they are. Maybe whoever runs the site could put a Wildlife section in for those photos.
